I guess the RL is not perfect!!

Well, I've always said this car is well built and, other than the badly designed door handles (and a small metallic ticking noise that turned out to be a heatshield), nothing would break on it. Not so... I've been complaining to my peeps at the dealer that the tranny was doing something weird with shifting whenever it felt like it, up and down, at random intervals. I could never get the guys to "feel" it or see it on their computers. Well, the tranny has finally started slipping and the RPMs flare something fierce. They called Acura USA Techs and they are going to replace it!! Under warranty of course... I get to drive an 09 TL with 4k miles on it for a couple of days... I must say that Acura still has my vote as far as customer service is concerned but reliability is now suspect (in my eyes), but not quite on par with Gen 1/2 TLs. Anyway, that's my story and I'm sticking to it. I just hope the tranny replacement does not break something else!!!

For reference:

2006 RL (see my sig)
37,500 miles
One Owner
Driven aggressively but not too much and not very often...

Sorry to hear about the tranny issue. Luckily, this is not common in RLs.

I drive it very aggressively in the canyons, often keeping it above 5k through every corner for 30 miles. I need to check to see if this thing has a trans cooler. I added one in my SC, may have to do the same here.
