pad on center. i want to replace the padding in drivers arm rest that open. but not sure how to remove it?

 

I have disassemlbed a 2005 RL console and it is not as simple as I thought it would be. I purchased a complete console on ebay last yr for the sole purpose of replacing my driver side arm rest lid on the console. I have the service manual description if you want me to scan it but it is not a couple scews and its done. You haveto remove the whole box that tilts up then disassemble that box to get to the screws that hold the left and right tilt lid. I still have not mustered the balls to attempt the replacement yet. i thought it was hidden screws and easy to remove just the arm rest. thanks for reply.

 

Has anyone had experience with the leather getting "loose" where you rest your right arm? I wonder if they will replace them under warranty?
