How much for RL 2008

How much would be a decent price for an RL 2008? Please list your price with tax or before tax. Thanks

I think you'll have to work with a dealer on this. Depending on whom "you" are, prices will vary. Acura has money to move the cars but not urgent as 2009's are still at port.

Advertised rate (on Acura.com) is $499/month, I believe.

Anyone bought your RL 2008 likes to share your purchased price? I understand it will vary, but how much did you pay for yours?

I just received an email from Pohanka that says they are offering up to $ 8000 off select models, which can only be an RL. In 06, I received over $11K off list on mine, this when the mfg incentive was $4K. If they are offering $8K off the bat, I imagine you can get something a little better than that.

$499 would be for the base RL. I will be coming off my 05 lease and the dealer was willing to give me the entire $4000 cash incentive off the invoice price of $45520, for a purchase price of $41520. This is for the 08 RL Tech. Based on the fact that there are still a lot of 08 around you should start bidding at $41K. I got my 05 for $43035. The lease doesn't work great on the 08, the best they could do on a Tech model was $70 more per month than I'm paying for my 05 for the exact same car. Acura would rather sell than lease the remaining 08's. Good luck!!

The problem with leasing a 2008 RL is residual - it's horrendous (48%).

$41k is about right for a 2008 RL Tech. But lease rates will still be over $600 (before tax) due to the depreciation.

Agreed. The money factor at 3.9% could be a bit more competitive too if they wanted to lease the RL and aggressively move the inventory. I probably would have leased the 08 if they could have matched the price I'm paying for my 05. I'm paying less per month with a higher net capitalized cost and money factor. The residual is killing the deal for sure. The residual for my current lease is 59%!! If you want to buy and not lease the 08 though its a great deal.

Carsdirect currently lists the 2008 RL with tech package/CMBS/runflat tires for just under 44k and with tech package for 40.5k for the Southern California market.

I would go for the 09, the 08 will be a hard resale competing with cheaper 05-07 and the improved 09.

I agree with all of the above.

For reference, my 2005 RL lease was ~$570/month (36 mons, 12k/year) plus tax. 2008 lease (as per above) is over $600...

And actually, once you are in an 09, you will never see the power plenum grill! Everything else should be an improvement.

I am always excited to see another RL at an intersection or stop light.

That will change.

I will soon fear a stop light when, across the intersection, I see 'Phlegm Face'.

There must be something that can be done. Could an oversize hockey goalie mask me made to fit the puss of the 09 RL?

The answers here are simple.

To the OP: Look at the "RL owners sign in" thread at the top of the forum to see what people have paid for the 2008. $41k is in the ballpark and is what many of us were paying in 2006. I paid $42k but that's close enough...

Leasing an '08 is an awful idea. People who want to do that must have money to burn. If I were going to lease an RL, I'd wait until the 2009s bow. Power Phlegm grille or no, the newer model will have a (slightly?) better residual than the old.

BUYING an '08 is an awesome idea. Buy it, don't worry about the resale value, drive it till the axles come off, which according to FN P90 is about 160k miles.

Thank you very much everyone for all the info, opinions, and suggestions. We are thinking of buying an 08 rl, but still debating on the monthly payment.
