Hey Qatar I'm trying to get the Legend badge but I haven't been able to track it down, I can't find it on a&jracing.

Thanks

Qatar, you might want to PM Touge to see if he can offer a competitive price. His company directly imports parts like this from Japan.

How is the cooled seat project coming along on your car?

Thanks Bob,
I'll check with Touge and also A&J Racing.
As for the cooled seats, my dealer told me that i'll probably need to change my harness which is $5000.00. The dealer tech is only speculating and not sure, and i dont want to get the cooled seat and screw up elsewhere.
I was told that no one has ever attempted this, so there is no way to know.
But i can go with a non EOM cooled seat, which sound logical, but i like Honda stuff.
Still researching, but i'll keep you posted

In my opinion, the only stuff you may need to change is the seat base, and the switches along with their own harnesses.

Whats up Qatar! on the ride. I moved to Alexandria about 6 months ago. My dads got an RL up in CT and I LOVE the car. One of my co workers kept telling me about an RL in his apt complex and how sick it is with the honda badges and all. and i stumbled across yours today and its the same one hes been telling me about. keep up the awesome work man! maybe ill see you around.

Hey Qatar, did you ever get the Amuse Exhaust? I hear they are totally stealthy, looks like stock, but quieter and 6 more whp!

Whoops, got that mixed up with the Fujitsubo. Amuse is all titanium!

Chas2,
According to my shop, Amuse has the loudest echaust (sportiest), but i have cancelled my order due to Amuse customer service.
When Amuse sent me the bodykit, they didnt include any booklit or instructions on how to install them, and if you look at the threa, i had an issue with the side skirt fittment. I finally sent the side skirt back to Japan so Amuse can find whats wrong with it, and after they agreed to pay me for shipping $530 and paint $270.00. Now Amuse says that they paint process changed the bodykit and i'm responsible for that, so they wont credit me for shipping and paint. so i told them i wont purchase anything from them anymore.
I paid $1010.00 for the skirt, plus shipping and paint. i think Amuse is way over its head
i told them to keep the skirt, because i'm not paying to have it shipped back
So, no exhaust

I'm sorry to hear about that trouble. That's a hell of a lot of money to spend on a side skirt, just to be disappointed.

i know, i wish i had gotten the Mugen side skirts instead.
A&J offered to pay me back the amount i paid for shipping and paint, but i'll still have to pay to have the item shipped from Canada, i totally rejected the idea, because it isn't thier fault in the first place.
Its a lesson to learn, and it also makes me wonder, why doesn't Acura offer Mugen parts at soem dealers?
RonJon rims are offered in a respectful number of Acura dealers, what a shame!

props for doing the badging and not listening to what others feel. Afterall it is a Honda Legend in Japan. Many people put Honda badges on Acuras (including me) and theres nothing wrong with it, not like we're putting Toyota emblems on it.

Wow! Amuse customer service sucks! I am disappointed in hearing that as I was gonna go with their exhaust as well. But I read around and found out that in about a year or two it starts rattling. Sorry to hear.

I totally agree with this. There is a certain segment of the Honda/Acura buying population (e.g. forumites like ourselves) who pay attention to this and are willing to spend money.

I guess Honda is experimenting with the idea by providing a Mugen Civic first....factory installed and all. If that works, maybe this can be a factory or dealer-installed option on certain Acura models.

I agree, but how late would that be. The introduction of the second generation RL was the best time to introduce many items to the US market. Everytime i look at the competition, i feel that we are way behind and Honda/Acura doesn't seem to address its customers concerns.
The Mugen Civic doesn't relate to us in anyway, considering the age, market and reasons why many purchase Civic's, i don't think its the right vehicle to experiment this idea with. Now why would someone pay 30K for A Civic when you can pay the same for a TSX with more power.
The potential for growth is there, but not for that market by that margin.
I wish that Honda will just step up, we've lost to the other Japanese brands with thier introduction of more powerful AWD systems, What more can we lose?

I just received my Amuse side skirts today.
My Amuse front lip got damages during my accident last month, so i chose to order Mugen front lip, instead of Amuse (although i like Amuse's look better).
The Mugen lip was ordered through Sam at Visionary racing and i thank him for his help.
I'll take pictures once i get everything.
I got my self a Civic Si and gave my Legend to my wife, who doesn't want the side skirts or lip on the car, i might just put them in storage or sell them.

Congrats on the Civic. Coupe or sedan? Any mods planned?

At least the RL will stay in the family. I say put the stuff on it, anyway, the wife might not notice. Mine sure wouldn't....

Thanks guys.
I got a Silver coupe with Navi. No Galaxy Grey in the area.
So far, i did the Hid headlight and foglights ( a lot of difference).
I had the tint done plus i installed the foglights my self. It took about 3.5 hours, but wasn't that hard.
I'm considering the bodykit and auto domming rear view mirror. As far as engine mod, i'm not sure at the moment. Probably just the pulley.
If anyone is interested in the lip and skirts, let me know and i might list them in black market.

Neuronbob,
When my wife came home the first day she drove the car, she was a bit mad because people kept honking at her wanting to ask her questions about the car, specially at traffic lights. I was used to that, so it was no problem to me.
I just told her to not lower the window or answer if she doesn't want to.
She actually wanted to convert the car back to how originally it looked, and you can imagine my reaction.
What i might do is just put the A-SPEC front lip for her.

quick question, will the acura "A" center emblem fit perfectly in place of the "H" center emblem of the legend grill? I love your grill.... but preferred to have "A" instead of the "H".... it'll flow really well with my TL next to my RL

Psheu,
The Acura logo will not fit the Honda logo in the grill.
The Honda Legend H is bigger than the Acura Rl's A.

Just curious...how come your "H" on the front are different than the one I got? Your "H" is entirely coated. The one I have is just like a regular "H" like you would see on the USDM?

This is what I got. I took out the silver sill because I'm having that done in carbon fiber. So ya no wonder your look different than my.

us6spec,
I don't know if you had a chance to try the grill on your car, but you'll have to modify it to fit perfectly.
One thing you'll have to do is cut the plastic cover that goes on top of the grill at the hood latch.
You'll know what i mean when you try to install it, just don't be surprised

Thanks I will keep that in mind. I just installed my headlamp today. Took a while but got it in. Lucky I was at my friend shop since they have a lift to jack up the car.

Sorry to bring this thread back from the dead, but anyone know of a good site where I can buy the Legend front grille? I was able to find rear emblems off ebay, but can't seem to find a front Honda front grille.

Thx

Special order item. They don't list it. You have to either email or call them. Expect to pay about $900 brand new.

Cooled seats

Not to hijack the thread, but here's what I know about the cooled seat:

I found out the seat structure was different on the '09 car that has OEM cooled seats. So, last summer, I started exploring with a Honda dealer in Canada about retrofitting the seat-cooler parts that came there as original equipment since '05.

The parts guy I found, David at Ray Foss Acura, was skeptical at first about the possibility. But to his credit, he was also diligent. And the more he dug, the more enthusiastic he became that it could be done at a reasonable cost. He concluded that it would take the following parts at a minimum:

•Switches (for the console, replacing the heater-only switches -- obviously, if you only did the driver's seat, you'd only replace one switch)
•Ducts $170
•Blower $100 (each? Dunno)
•Harness $75

He said his reference materials seemed to show that the seat cooler only cools your back, not your buns. I have no idea if this is true, having never driven a Canadian RL, but that's what he said. He was willing to proceed and told me to contact him when I was ready. (Since I didn't own an RL at the time, I wasn't ready.)

Hope this helps.

I think Qatar did that where he converted the heated seat to the cool/heated seat. I think he uses the parts from the Canadian counterpart. But from what I understand, it was a pricy set up.

King Motorsports. If you are lucky you can find authentic Mugen Emblem on ebay for decent price. Or go to www.jhpusa.com
