high tone at 70 mph

I noticed a high pitched tone at around 70mph (5th gear) in my new 05 RL. Took it to the dealer. the result was a test drive with the service manager. He heard the whine and stated that other RL owners had mentioned the issue. They took the issue to ACURA and stated that they were working on a fix. Any of you notice and similar issue? The service guy thinks it is a resonace in the tranny.

Thanks

Deon

No whine in my vehicle. But that doesn't mean it isn't there for you (and some other owners). Know it's not there in my RL after lengthy trip up the east coast and back again. Nothing but bliss on the highway. (And I still have the original rubber, but will be going to at least 18" eventually.)

Nope, no special noises for me, either. I hope yours turns out to be something simple.

I have only noticed this a few times on a couple hour business trips. It has been hot with the ac going. I thought maybe related to the ac running constant. Mine is only when there is a pull on the engine like going up a long stretch of interstate at about 75....going down hill it doesn't make it.

Does this sound like your issue?

I noticed exactly the same thing last night. Fairly subtle though.

Sound like something I had altho I wouldn't call it "high pitched"
But it went away after a couple of months.

I noticed something similar in 5th gear. Turning off the AC didn't help. I noticed it at 70mph or so. Took my foot off the gas and it continued until I dropped below about 50mph. Then resumed when I reached 60mph or so. Happened for about 5 or 10 minutes and then so far, hasn't come back. I'll be interested to hear the diagnosis.

BTW, it was a somewhat subtle high-pitched whirring. I wouldn't have described it as a whine, so possibly not the same issue.
