Has anyone removed their driver's side door handle?

I'm trying to replace my driver's side door handle.

I got the door panel off and I can reach inside the hole to unplug the cable for the Driver's side door, but I have no idea how I can remove it.

Is there a DIY or has anybody on here done this?

I know it's farfetched, but there's always that handy guy on here.

Quite a few have, but I'm not sure they did a write up. Titomang's power folding mirror DIY may help.

The power folding mirrors didn't touch on how to get the exterior handle removed, but it is quite an impressive DIY

I'm wondering if anyone has experience with this.

My driver's door handle is loose. not the part you pull to open the door, but the smaller part to the left where you could also insert the key., That oval looking piece is pulling out.

Is it screwed in, or glued in usually? how can my make sure it stays there? Don't want it to fall off. The other doors, that thing is quite fixed on the door.

If it's anything like the pre-mmc you have to get at it from inside the door as there is a screw holding it in place.

Yea I know. its why i said if anyone has something different. I don't even know what a trim tool is. And those diagrams are Chinese to me.

Our very own Scottsan, God bless him. Visually becomes easy, I hope:

I'll print them out too, and build my patience around figuring them out. I guess it wouldn't hurt.

It's like having to read a map instead of the nav telling you the route. Everything you need is there if you take your time.

A trim tool is like a flat head screw driver with a split tip and angle in the neck. It can be substituted with a flat head. Just be careful not to scratch the plastic too much.
