I have an '06 RL. I thought that it was a bit dark getting in and out of the car at night with just the blue LED's around the foot area, so I set the "Door" overhead switch to enable the dome light to come on when the door is open. I notice that the small green light on the "Door" button stays on all the time if the Door setting is on.

Wouldn't this be a constant drain on the battery?

(I noticed that this green light was mentioned in a thread about dead battery problems, but I'm not sure if it is a sufficient power user to actually drain the battery to a dead condition.)

 

It's supposed to be on. I highly doubt that this tiny LED would have any measurable impact to battery life.

 

It probably doesn't matter. LED's use very little power, 20 milliamps if this source is to be believed.

It turns off when you lock the car. I asked the same question a while back.
