Good deal or not?
Good deal or not?
Hi, I'm new to this forum. I just made a deal on a 06 RL with tech package, rear sensors, rear spoiler, splash guards, all weather mats, trunk mat, wheel locks, and tinted windows for $38,800. Please tell me I made a good deal. The catch is that the car has 6,000 demo miles on it. I thought, what's 6000 miles, I drive that much in a few months. So I made the deal. I ask about the backup camera, its 650 installed. Is it a fare price? Is it worth to get it? Thanks for any comment.

Are you in the Chicagoland area?
Sounds like you bought the Special Demo. Each dealer could get a "special demo" RL and a discount on all the accessories they wanted to put on it.
The idea being that Acura wanted all the dealerships to have one to show even if they'd otherwise be sold out. The "Special Demo" wasn't allowed to be sold without severe penalties to the dealership, so it'd always be there.
Also, many dealerships are loath to apply accessories to a car in the fear that a) the person wanting the accessories won't want that color or b) that it'll sell before service manages to get the parts onto the car and they'll have a bunch of accessories that may not fit a car or c) someone will want that car but be unwilling to pop for the accessories.
The Special Demo had to be at the dealership during business hours so no manager would take it as their demo as they have days off when the car wouldn't be there.
So the special demo is the car that got all the abuse/test drives, service techs learning how to put accessories on for the first time, etc.
That said, it's an Acura with a decent warranty and you got an awesome deal. At 4 years/50k miles it'll be worth the same as every other 4/50 RL Tech with accessories. If I were you, I'd have bought it too. Sell it before the OEM warranty runs out just in case that early abuse hurts longevity.

Not a bad deal considering you get all the accesories/ extras with the car. That alone would probably run you about a $1K+. If the car is in good condition and runs well, 6K is really nothing to be concerned about.

Where are you located?

On the window sticker, it saids DEMO, DO NOT SALE but the car is in excellent condition. I guess that they are getting a new one for 07, so they can sell the 06.
