Good Deal for AcuraCare Warranty

What is considered a good price for a 8yr/120k AcuraCare warranty in NY?? It's for a '08 RL Tech with 3500 miles (bought it new at the end of '09 to take advantage of the new car tax deduction)..

How much did you guys pay for yours & how late did you add it on? Thanks in advance.

I got a 4 year 120k warranty extension, bought at 45k, paid $1800, 0% interest for 18 months with 10% down.

Purchased out of state, WAY out of state.

My 07 RL was a CPO with 37K in last October. Original warranty ended in January 2011; CPO kicked in in January 2011 and ends in January 2012, or 12,000 miles from January (power train is covered to 100,000 miles). I paid $1,098 for a 3 year/ 100K.

Oh yes I forgot you can purchase it from out of state.. I was trying to purchase it with the aspec install in hopes of getting a better deal on both.

Not sure if this info is helpful... but i bought 'fidelity warranty' from acura dealer on my 06 RL back in Dec, 2010 (car had 30k miles and original factory warranty ran out, hence 'third-party' warranty) It was $1850 for 5yr/75,000miles on top of 30,000 miles I had on the car. So car is now covered till 2015/105,000 miles whichever comes first.

I was told, fidelity and acura aftercare provide same coverage. not sure if that's 100% accurate though.

if I had to guess, it's 100% inaccurate as Acura warranty covers honda and acura parts, and whatever else you got may cover...whatever else and not necessarily serviced by the dealer with possibly a lot more headache and hassle.

I was also under the impression the original warranty is good till 50k starting in 2006 for bumper to bumper.

His 4 years was probably up before the mileage limit.

That's correct. Year limitation was up first....

I was told (by acura dealer) that 3rd party would provide OEM parts. Once again, it is supposed to mirror exactly like the acuracare warranty. At least it says so on the paper. We shall see. Hopefully I won't have any issues with the car and never have to find out what they ACTUALLY cover!

After-market warranties are a hit-or-miss. See Warranty Gold - at one time the #1 aftermarket warranty company in the USA. Read all, I mean all, of the fine print before you sign.
