I just noticed that my 06's glovebox light never comes on when the glovebox is opened unless the ignition is turned off? This seems strange to me. Basically at night if I need to get something from the glovebox, I have to either turn the car off so the glovebox light actually comes on when it is opened, or if the car is running (or ignition on), turn on the interior map/dome lights to see.

 

Did a little bit more experimentation. The light only comes on when the glovebox is opened if the engine is running or the ignition on with the headlights (or at least parking lights) also on. IMHO it should be rigged the same way as the dome/courtesy lights that come on whenever a door is opened (unless you have them set to off, etc)
