this http://ststurbo.com/home has been intriguing me for a while, not for a high performance project, just a simple/safe thing to have a bit more power..

Seems like for $2k + install you can get equal performance gains without risking forced induction. Also, the website doesn't have any empirical data of gains or mention of warranty that I can find.

I'm going to revive your thread here to ask you a couple questions about your exhaust. I know you aren't happy with the sound from the Borla ProXS muffler and Areo Turbine resonators. I've heard the Borla ProXS mufflers on other J-series motors and like the low tone. I'm pretty convinced that the rasp is not from those mufflers.
First, are the OEM resonators straight through and non restrictive? Basically, does removing them free up airflow at all or is it all just for sound?
Secondly, did you end up going with the Vibrant resonators? If so, did they help with the rasp?
Third, did you figure out the stock piping size? Most say it is 2.25" but it doesn't seem like that's a unanimous thought.
Last, if you had it to do all over again, what would you do differently?
I have RV6 HFPC's and J-pipe on order and will be looking to build to the rear off of that. I'm really just trying to decide if I want to replace all the piping or do a basic axle-back setup to add some sound and free up some restriction from the OEM mufflers. I'm going to finish it off with some 4.5" round tips. I really like the look of the 5Zigen exhaust but not willing to shell out the $2k for it.
I've also looked at the Borla Rock-It 40058 that is both mufflers and tips altogether. Reviews on those are pretty up and down but they look really nice.

Not sure about the OEM resonators, I think they were restrictive?
I solved the rasp by buying a portable bandsaw, cutting the exhaust system to pieces, and re-installing the stock exhaust.
The stock exhaust is 2" because I upgraded to 2.25".
If I had to do it over again I would NOT get the aero turbine resonators, I don't think it did anything except make it sound worse.
I would stick with 2" pipping too, I think 2.25" made it a really tight fit.
Its a game of trial and error, and my setup was error.

Lol. That bad, huh? I think I'm probably going to just stick with some Borla mufflers and nice looking tips for the time being. I've got time anyway. Gotta let the recent purchases fade away from the wife's memory before buying more. Maybe by then ATLP or RV6 will have an actual cat-back available for the RL.

Thanks. I'll let you know. I may end up just doing some weld on mufflers/tips at the end of the exhaust. Doing a full exhaust is seeming like more hassle than it's really worth. My j-pipe is supposed to ship by the end of the week. We'll see how I feel about the rest of the exhaust after I slap that and the HFPC's on.

I DID THE CUSTOM TRUE DUAL EXHAUST. I DIDNT LIKE HOW IT SOUNDED AT IDEL. NOW I HAVE DONE RV-6 J-PIPE AND STRAIGHT 3'' PIPES TO THE 2ND SET OF FACTORY RESONATORS INTO MAGNAFLOW MUFFLERS. NOW IT SOUNDS GOOD. CHECK OUT MY VIDEO IN YOUTUBE TRUE DUAL RL.![Thumbs Up](https://acurazine.com/forums/images/smilies/thumbsup.gif)
