Fuel Gauge Issue
Fuel Gauge Issue
Has anyone ever experienced a slowly rising fuel gauge in their 05/06 RLs after filling up the tank from near empty ? For the first time, yesterday, my fuel gauge rose so slowly that I had driven 15 miles ( mixed city and highway) before it got to the full position. It seems to be working fine going downwards now - 65 miles on this last tank of gas and the gauge shows a little below full.
BTW, it got stuck at 1/3 tank for a good 7 or 8 miles and my range readout was showing a miserable 115 miles despite lugging around a full tank of gas. It has since corrected itself though.
Any thoughts ?

Well im not sure how the Rl works but heres what my TL does. When its all the way full it goes above the little F line. Now when I start my car and its turning over the gauge sinks a little but goes right back up once the car is started. I also noticed that once the car is started its a little bit higher then it is in the ON position. So basically its a little lowerin in the ON position then once its turning over it goes even lower but then once its turned over its fine. Always goes down normally while driving. Now keep in mind when I said that im not talking like half a tank off in the ON position im talking like maybe less then a little line. My gas gauge goes F million lines then Half then another million lines then E. So that is maybe half a line off when in the ON and a full line off when its turning over. Anyway thats how the TLs work if that means anything to you.

)HAHAHA basically car in ON position its a little lower then normal. Car trying to turn over it goes a bit lower. Then once on and running goes all the way up and like I said this isnt by much. Like I said maybe by a line at the most.

My Audi A6 did that about 10 times in 7 years. but always corrected it self. I wonder if it has something to do with air in the tank then bleeds out? I wonder if I know what I'm talking about?
