before buying my 2006 CPO RL, I looked at NEW TSXs. I really liked the look of the new TSX, but when you look at how much a newer once costs, and compare it to what you cna get an 05/06 RL for - and then DRIVE them - you immediately realize how the RL is light years ahead of the TSX in every way.

Enjoy the car and post some pics when you get it! Tint your windows and add the OEM lip spoiler..I did that to mine as soon as I bought it and it really made a huge difference in how the car looks.

I still have the crappy 17" OEM wheels..but if you ultimately did some new wheels and dropped the car a bit to lower it's stance - it would look AWESOME!

upsizing yoru wheels will really help handling too. I have an 06 RL with the 17s. my parents have a 2007 RL with the factory aspec 18s. i've driven both our RLs back to back, and yo ucan clearly feel more grip, more responsiveness in teh steering with the 18s...handling is better...and I can't really say that comfort was any worse...the car is maybe marginally more "cushy" on the 17s...but the 18s were by NO means rough riding..it still rode plush and was nice.

great choice in car!

WOOT! Glad you stayed with in the Acura family!

The RL will be a total upgrade from the TSX execpt fuel economy.

I picked up the car this weekend! Drove it back home good 600 miles and got 29 mpg
Then i drove it around last night around normal city / highway driving got about 25

With my TSX i did about 28 so its not to bad on gas which is awesome for such a bigger car.

I did have the AFS light come on, but i turned the car off and on and it went away and i saw the headlights move left and right , not sure why the light came on.

If i can find 2009 acura rims / 2010 RL rims ill put them on this car , i dont want any after market wheels i wanna try keeping it pretty simple.

I really love the ebony interior, I'm picking up a CPO 06 Opulent Blue Pearl with Ebony interior on Friday and can't wait. Loved my Parchment interior though it did show signs of wear easily as discussed in other threads.

Congrats! Is it an 05 or 06? I wanted Meteor Silver when I bought my RL, but they had none except a demo, and I wanted new. I chose the Opulent Blue Pearl. It really shows the luster of this finish, but it also shows every flaw in the paint. The Meteor Silver will nicely hide typical flaws and chips and it is very rare to see.

Get your checklist for any TSBs that may apply to your RL and work with a good dealer to bring everything up to speed if the previous owner did not do so.

It is a great car, very under appreciated and yet the finest vehicle I have owned.

Looks great! Is that silver? I can't tell if silver or light blue? It must be silver.

I used to always hate the OEM wheels on these cars until we bought our CPO '05. I now think they look great and really complement the black exterior on our car. I had planned on an upgrade but now I can save some money and spend it on my Armada .

One thing that really helps make the OEM wheels look good - is glossy tires. I use the NO TOUCH aerosol in black cans w/ green letters. Two coats makes them look sweet!!!!

Have fun with your new ride!!!

It is called Meteor Silver. It is mostly silver with a light blue hue. It was only offered in 05 and 06.

Gee, I thought I was the ONLY person who liked the OEM wheels! They seemed relative similar to the wheels my 05 TL had, which I liked. They stay clean, easy to wash and show the ACURA calipers well. I do not like fussy wheels with details or surfaces difficult to maintain pristine. I do confess I wish they were 18s, however.

I have some 9.3 x 18.1-inch wheels to sell you, well technically 235 mm by 460mm A wheels with 245-680R460A tires!

They look just like the OEM 17-inch wheels!

Oops, I forgot I have to follow my own advice and not sell the wheels so I can sell the car later on with all safety systems intact with the PAX system. Sorry to tease you!

Its an 05 light blue color not sure if the color name yet. The previous owner had it from brand new and has done all the service recently completing the 60k service.
The only thing not done is the Timing belt. The service says in really cold or hot conditions change it at 60k so im not sure if i should change it now or later.

I'll give it a good wash and wax this weekend when i get some time.

Look at the door jamb and get the color code, and check it out here

http://acura.bernardiparts.com/Acura...NT-PEN-RL.aspx

Actually there are a lot more colors in other Honda models where you might find your code also, for example, the Honda Civic seems to have every color code ever made.

Even better is to go the Acura Owner Link, register with your VIN, and they will give all the info they have on the car, including an on line manual, and access to Nav and Radio codes

Congrats on coming to the right side of the Acura family!

Meteor Silver/Ebony is my favorite color combo in the RL.

jk congrats
Because this is when the 05/06 is getting to that sweet spot that agrees with a large portion of society on the used price list. Still fairly new and clean/current, some under warranty.

Prepare to see an explosion of new people in the RL forums over the next year.

Nice pick.

I'm interested to know what kind of gas mileage are you getting after having it for a few days
