Forbes' Best Cars for the Money

http://www.forbes.com/2006/05/12/bes...partner=alerts

One point: I do not think the RL can compare to a 7-Series BMW or the magical S-Class Benz. The RL was meant to compete with the mid-sized cars like the 5-Series and E-Class, but more closely with the Infiniti M and Lexus GS. Forbes needs to get it together.

Sigh....they mention the V6 thing, forgetting the overall value of the RL, especially if since one can be procured below retail cost. And I'm shocked the TL wasn't mentioned. But that's OT.

However, it is approximately $800,000 cheaper than purchasing a condo in Aspen. In our testing, we found the Acura considerably faster and more agile than the condo, though the Acura lost points for sleeping capacity and lack of a fireplace. Bottom line: the RL is a competent piece of engineering, but lacks the square footage and indoor plumbing to be taken seriously in this category.

The RL also lacks what can potentially be found in a condo's refridgerator:

We shouldn't be sensitive to the comparisons to cars so much more expensive. Glory in the accolades and some recognition for the RL. It is also nice company in which to be mentioned. They could have picked the GS or the M35.

yep everyone should think their comments were flaterning. the v6 thing wasnt bad. Merely said compared to the 2 cars costing much mroe that it lacks the engine/power.

It is funny...I have seen more RLs (2) near my work in the last week than I think I have since I got the car Dec 04

I think everyone's been too critical about RL sales being slow. It's simply going to take word of mouth to get this car selling. Get more on the road, and more people will finally start to take notice of them. Many of you guys talk about how when you fill up for gas people compliment and go nuts over the car. It's only a matter of time (and some better marketing...)

I agree...but one of the things I love about RL is that there aren't too many around not like the Lexus, Benz and BMWs...which make the RL more special...a hidden gem.

Curious....Best Premium Sedan....rather than Luxury sport sedan....

Seems that since RL is a flagship everyone compares it to other flagships, not realizing that it's not on the same pedestal, and then it gets flamed for being underpowered and not a direct competitor. People are stupid.
