First RL Problem

Well, I have owned by RL for six months and have found my first problem. Key FOB will not open the drivers side door, only the right passenger and trunk. I have to pull the remote out when I want to get into the car. (Yeah, I'm lazy) but when you get used to it, it's a great thing.

Starting the car is not a problem. I have a date with my service guys on Friday, they claim it's no big deal. Will see.

Has it been raining or did you recently wash it.

Known problem.

My driverside handle just went on me recently too, but it magically started working again 2-3 days later... Odd.

Those were the exact symptoms I had. If I washed it, or especially if I took it to a touchless with the high pressure water, or it rained, it wouldn't work. It would take a day or two for it to dry up and then it would start working again.

Took it to the dealer, there is a TSB out there. Seems like the lighter colors are more prone to it, but obviously that didn't apply to me with the CGP.

Service Manager stated that the replacing of the door handles is temporary since they didn't think Acura figured out the problem. So far the new one (passenger side) has been working well, but now I think the driver's side may be starting to go. Had one instance where I almost had to rub the dimple (no comments) instead of just touching it, and that was when the car was wet.

Had mine since last August with Zero problems, and I've been through many car washes in that period.

Had same problem last year. Dealer exchanged both driver and passanger side handles under warranty and no problems since then!

I had that happen, and the dealer did a complete "reset" whatever that means and it started working again. I've also had the driver's side handle replaced but that was after the first issue.

Good luck!

It didn't happen after car wash. Been this way for about a month off and on, now it's 100% off.
