Female or Male Voice
Who likes which voice-activated voice response? Male or Female?
I changed mine to male for a few days, but changed it back. I like to think of my car in feminine terms.

I changed mine to the male voice....call him Joe. My wife hollars at me enough, so I don't need another female giving me directions or telling me that I said the wrong voice command!! :-)

how the heck do you change the voice? I thought when I first got the car i saw a place to change it but since then I have looked and cant find a place to change it.
Maybe us Canucks dont get the option though since we have a french option.

I told my wife, (who is anxious for an RL), that the decision to have a male/female voice must be decided before we take delivery, and cannot be changed afterwards. She still cannot decide, & thinks it is dumb that they do not offer the buyer an option to switch voices as desired. (she smart, eh?)
I explained that they cannot do that, as each RL must be logged into the factory records when delivered as a male or female, just like a newborn baby, and that it would be highly improper for a car to change genders after delivery.
Now she wants to why they need to do this, & I have not thought this far ahead to have an answer for that.
I told her I would consult AcuraLink for an explaination if the saleman can't expalin it.
Geez, I gotta stop screwing with her head. She really doesn't deserve it!

My voices alternate
Without even trying, I seem to get the best of both worlds (voices).
The day I got the RL, the voice was a female voice. I changed it to a male voice just to hear the difference.
The next day, the voice changed back to the female without my adjusting the control. Ever since then, the voices have minds of their own. Sometimes the male voice sounds, other times, the female.
I recognize that there is a problem with the system and will have it corrected during my first oil change. Till then, I will simply enjoy hearing two different voices.

Both my 99 TL and my 02 MDX had a female voice with no other choices. After hearing the same voice (female) for the last seven years it's nice that drivers will finally have a choice on the 05 RL. It would be great if there were even more choices down the road. Doesn't seem like it would be that much for the consumer to ask Acura for.

Maybe they'll have it soon where you can program whatever voice you want, such as celebraties. Larry the Cable Guy would be a good one. You could even program in your wife's or mother-in-law's voice and then have it come out the rear speaker.
