check out visionaryracing.com or you can call and speak to SAm, the intake he sells is actually for the 3g TL but it fits and he supplies a special made bracket for the intake to attach to the car. and he carries all the available exhausts for our car.

A similar product?

EDIT #2:
The Jet Performance site has dynos only for the RSX and a 2005 Integra. No RL. Someone would have to figure out ideal A/F ratios, then make a dyno.Jet Peformance dynos.

Not sure if it fits in here, but I found that this site: http://www.suja1.com/amuseparts.html carries a Hi-Tech ROM that Reprograms VTEC point, resonance point, fuel/ignition maps, and cancels speed limiter, made from Amuse.

I wish someone would install one of those to determine whether there is a benefit to doing so.

OK boys and girls... step 1 is complete! I met up with Scott today to take some measurements and discuss some options. Turns out Scott has over 10 years of experience with custom exhausts on Hondas and Acuras due to his relationship with Jackson Racing. I can't wait to see the finished product!
Some of you may be interested to know they're considering an exhaust for the RL as well. What do you guys think about the quad tip idea? Seems like the obvious choice, but we're not sure how well they match the oval cutout in the bumper (see pics.)
The GT-RO just happened to show up so of course I had to take some pictures... first one I've seen in person.

i would do this rather than the 5 zigen exhaust even though the 5zigen is a known company and from the reviews on here it seems like it's a quieter exhaust than stock i am not a huge fan of the round tips maybe if it was oval but i am definitely 110% in for the quad tips..+ the j-pipe...

come on guys let's make this happen.

Depending on the interest for the exhaust, or an axle back exhaust, since these headers will be replacing the J-Pipe, 3rd cat and the front section of the cat-back, we can get an interest thread started.

But please, let's keep this thread pertaining strictly to the front section/J-Pipe.

so your making the j-pipe a "true dual" setup? replacing the 3rd cat..imo i would it would be better to keep the 3rd cat and upgrade the j-pipe only because i know the Rl has alot of electrical components and im kinda skeptical about something going wrong i.e o2 sensors etc..then again i can be wrong..guys please chime in... is everyone cool with removing the 3rd cat?

The 3rd cat on the RL, and TL, are there mainly for just the Ultra-LEV, purpose. It doesn't have any O2 sensors, or electrical components reliant on it. You will not throw a CEL or a malfunction light if you delete the 3rd cat, as the primary cats are the more important converters. There are plenty of members with TL's that have been running this setup, with no problem what so ever. There have even been members who had their car smogged without the 3rd cat and pass smog just fine.

Well, it would be kindof a waste to spend serious cash on a J-pipe and then fail smog. Worse if the inspector looks under the car and notices the missing cat, I guess.

We do. We've already started with the first part of the process and will begin the first prototype in about a week and a half.

i'd like to revisit this point since it seems to have been forgotten. i was looking into this 'flap' system and from what i understand it's in/around the part located near #27 in this picture

also i think you can see it here, look directly after the CAT and right before the dual split:

I still believe that they probably integrated it inside the mufflers, as there are no weld marks on the J-Pipe indicating a flap mechanism inside. Although I can't be certain until we have it off the car, and can look inside.

We're finishing up the final piece for the 2nd gen TL this week, and should be able to get this project started shortly after.

Look forward to some numbers and reliability. S&S makes headers for Lexus V8s but they are horribly unreliable resulting in many complaints of cracks though the 2nd gen series header are better. 6-10 hr install on those cars adds up to reweld or replace a side. But they also add substantial proven hp and tq. Hopefully some decent gains can be had on the RL as well.

i don't think the flap is in the J-pipe but after the Cat before the split to dual pipes.

I would be happy to do a before/after dyno of the car. My dyno guy is located in Colton, CA.
Still waiting on a response from Jet on their ECU upgrade for possible custom work.

I found some interesting information on the exhaust 'flap' system.

"To balance the engine's need for proper exhaust backpressure at low speed and free flow at high speed, the exhaust system incorporates a variable flow rate feature. An exhaust pressure-operated valve in the system has two operating modes. The low speed mode has a flow rate of 130 liters per second; when the engine reaches about 4000 rpm, the exhaust pressure rises enough to open the valve, which increases the flow to 150 liters per second." (information from http://www.hondanews.com/categories/757/releases/2091 )

"an additional 20 horsepower was netted by the variable flow-rate exhaust system." (information from http://www.hondanews.com/categories/757/releases/2092 )

So, does this mean that by removing the 'flap' from the exhaust system, it would lose 20 horsepower?

When I see some solid data and a price I will consider. As of now I am a solid maybe. If I see some dyno's that show some true gain I will probably buy.
