Fan Queston

I pulled the radiator and replaced the thermostat. That was an interesting experience getting into the tight space to replace that. Got everything back in, hooked all the connectors, warmed up the engine until the thermostat opened. The fans never kicked in. I turned on the a/c and that fan didn't kick in either. So at this point I have two fans that are not working and the dash says to check the cooling system. So I shut the car down and called it a day. Just before I go to bed, I thought I would give everything the once over to make sure I didn't miss a thing. All the connectors are in place. I pulled the cover to the main fuse box and all the big fuses are intact.

I entered the code into the MFD and was able to get to the a/c function button and the a/c was on but the a/c fan didn't kick in.

I was able to pull the connector and reconnect the one over by the alternator from underneath until it snapped. I will get to the other one in the morning to make sure it is snapped in tight. It appears to be in place. The fan controller relay connectors are in place and tight (no way to misconnect them) . There are not that many connectors and the fans did run before I pulled them. I am mad at myself for not making this work like it should, It isn't that hard. I am at a loss to figure this out, so I am open to some suggestions.

Suggestions on where I should start to look?

Check the 50A fuse that is connected to the positive battery terminal cable.

Here is what I have determined so far: The A/C clutch connector is clicked in and I can cycle the clutch from inside the car by turning it on and off. The fan relay controller plugs were removed and put back in until they clicked. The fan motors were never disconnected from the controller so that isn't an issue. The ground at the thermostat was tight and there is only one connector going to that. The sensor on the back of the thermostat was removed and put back in until it clicked. The other connector to the sensor at the water manifold was pulled and reconnected.

So it comes down to fans not working...must be a voltage problem. I removed the 4 wire plug from the drivers side ( a royal pain to remove) and put my meter to the connections. The black (-) and the green (+) were the only ones that were giving any voltage. The yellow and white were no voltage.
I checked all the fuses in the main box with my meter and they were all good. The 50 amp fuse for the fans has 12v going in.I guess I will pull that fuse and see if it has continuity as 007spy suggests I check.

Some thing is wonky but I am running out of clues of what to check. Ever hear of the fan controller relay going out?

Checked the 50 amp fuse by removing it. Visually it looked good and the continuity checker shows that it is good on both sides.

I went so far as to remove the battery and air box to check to see if I bumped a connector. So far I have found nothing that is out of place. In reading a suggested post,

Problem resolved! I suggested that there wasn't 12v to the fans. That turned out to be the case. On the positive terminal is a small connector that feeds to the internals of the car. When putting the battery back in, it looked good, but I decided to make sure. I cleaned both sides of the connector and put a star washer on to make sure it was solid. When I started the car and put on the a/c, both fans kicked in.
Now you have a thread on how to diagnose a problem as I walked through each step to find the problem. Thank you 007Spy for your help.
