op, i think you should try taking out the resonator first. it will give your car a slight different sound. its a free mod and if you don't like it, you can reinstall it.
it was pretty easy to take it out. but might be a little hard putting back in.

If you put one of these on each outlet, the KB1 RL develops 500 hp and growls like a (cute) tiger:
Touge had these on his RL but had to take them off due to too much wheelspin when he got into the throttle. YRMV

lol my drag car has a 12" 4 inch downpipe coming out of the hood i cant hear shit with it. especially with the new motor going in its going to be much louder.
i dont want to get into cams or major upgrades i enjoy the reliability of the RL

Since you do not have rear aspec lip, no quads. the exhaust indentation in the bumper isnt made for it. I say go with the 1500 dollar exhaust if thats what you like. Whenever I get the extra money I'm going to get custom tips and the resonators removed and replace the 4 removed stock resonators with two magnaflow resonators. Should be smooth and low without the rasp.

The Tanabe Medalion I have on my S2000 now (skip to 5:00 or so in the video). I wasn't aware they made one for the Legend/RL.

Either one will likely have to be imported from Japan=$$$$
