Engine Image Question

Hello Guys i had a question on this image i took of my engine bay. In the picture i have circled a screw (RED) does anyone know what this screw holding the clamp is used for? It concerns me that the screw and bolt has about a 1/2 inch gap between the top clamp and bottom and does not seem tightened. I compared to the bolt and screw on the right side and the screw thread comes above... the bolt.

Is this is an issue it would suggest the clicking/popping sound every-time i turn a corner i get intermitted.

Thanks

Rear engine mount. Likely a vacuum leak.

The mounts are air filled and can leak. The engine creates a vacuum to pull out the air and firm up the engine mounts at higher rpm.

That nut should be tight, so the nut could be loose or the rubber mount could be damaged.

If you are hearing a contact sound around corners, I am willing to bet the mount is broken and causing the noise.

Hello Sir....I had the transmission mount changed and the left motor mount back in Jan 2014. How many more mounts are there that could be the issue?

Thanks..

Same response from your PM, but I'll put it here to for the thread. There are two side mounts and a rear mount for sure. I'm not positive about the front, but I think it rarely fails if it is there. Some of the other members with more experience under the car can say for sure.

Hello all
I Went to the Acura dealer and got the front end evaluated…$67.50

1. They said my engine mounts are not broken but stretched and this is causing the clunking problem…so they will be going soon and need changing.

2.What is surprising is that they are the same mounts i just replaced back in Jan 14, 2014.

Part# 50820-SJA-305 : MTG RUB ASSY ENG $228.64
Part # 50830-sja-305: RUBBER ASSY, FR $ 252.74
Total with labor from Acura $951.00 dam!!

I dont understand how these mounts could have failed/stretched out already just over a year of being replaced.

3. I called Acura corporate today and explained my issue they said i am 2 months over the 12 months warranty and 10,000 ahead its 12months/12k miles no good will available:-(

4. Based on those part #s above are those mounts easy to be changed if i have the right tools…which i do and has any one done this before?

Thanks
