Easy visual diff between Base and Tech ?

Sorry if this is lame and I didn't think hard enough before asking-

Are there easy visual clues to the base model vs the Tech?
I know how to tell the CMBS model, but what about Tech or base. I'm talking about from pics on Autotrader.
Unless the screen is on and you see a compass, (not sure if even that denotes only a base).
thanks xperts.

If you look on the center stack, the MAP button for the NAVI will say COMPASS for BASE (non NAVI).

This is extremely subtle, and depends on the photos...

the base model (2007-2008--assuming you are not talking 2009) has no rearview camera mounted left of centerline under the license plate trim. It is possible to retrofit a rearview camera in the base, but it uses the same kit as the 2006, where the camera is mounted dead center, in place of the trunk mounted release button (a new button is installed right of center, but you will not be able to see that in any picture unless you get an extreme low angle rear shot with high resolution.

Tampa's method is likely to be easier to use.

Another obvious visual would be a blank button for the AFS alongside the gauge cluster. BASE RLs do not have AFS, althought you cannot really tell from looking at the headlight assembly.

Thanks. On autotrader, I see a good price on a 07 I think it was, and they show the on-screen compass. I'm thinking probably Base. Does the Tech model have the compass too?

So for CMBS/ACC, we get the shield on the grill, and the right buttons on the steering wheel, and one more button on the dash I think.
For BASE we have a Compass button and no AFS button..

Also- can you detect from the VIN what trim it is?

I see elsewhere that Vin digit 8 denotes trim level.
This 07 has a 5 as 8th digit.
I'll email the dealer, but 50/50 chance they even know what color it really is!!
