Driver seat wont recline!!

I have spent over an hour serching for similar threads without any luck. My driver seat backrest wont mmove forward unless i recline it backward first. Could this be a sign of somthing worse? Battery is ruled out.

So you have to recline the seat back all the way back before it will move forward to your desired position?

Sounds like you may need to do a hard reset with the battery cables. Disconnect both cables and hold them together for ~1 min.

There are a number of automatic system reset procedures, but I have never seen one for the seat.

What happens if you leave the seat out of position and press the seat memory button?

No, not all the way down only a couple inches back then it will allow me to move it forward.

Try and put pressure on the seat back with one hand and holding the recline button to see if assisting the motor helps. Have seen this before and ended up being a recline motor.

You can buy the recline motor separate from the seat linkage itself...not sure on the price. I doubt your extended warranty will cover it either but you should have your dealer call and see.

Would you happen to know the part number for the reclining motor? I tried searching but came up with module.

Has anyone solved this issue of the reclining motor? Mine still reclines back but not forward unless you recline back a little then quickly forward. The memory seat buttons will attempt to bring the seat back but the back rest part doesn't lit make it. Could this be a motor problem or frozen gears. No noise is heard while attempting to recline forward.
