Doors Keep "Locking" after TSB
Doors Keep "Locking" after TSB
Finally brought my 05 RL in for all of the TSBs, etc. Car just turned a year, and I've had a few problems (brake rattle, brake squeal). All fixed via TSBs.
NOW - the door locks keep repeatedly locking themselves while i'm driving. Never had the problem before. I followed some advice I had seen online (change auto lock settings from "lock at speed" to "lock on shift" or something like that).
Nothing seems to help. Anyone figure out a solution to this rediculous problem?
Thanks.

"disconnecting the battery cables and touching them together then reattach to the battery"
You will have to enter the Radio and Navi codes when finished.
I also have had the door locks repeatedly and randomly relocking while driving after the first TSBs were performed last spring and most recently after the door handles were replaced 2 weeks ago. As medrxman stated, the solution is to disconnect the battery for a minute. A safer way to do this is not to disconnect both the positive and negative terminals, but just.disconnect the negative one. This method minimizes the hazardous risk of shorting out the battery, but takes a little more time to allow the computer power to fully dissipate. I have had to do this twice already on my year old RL, when the dealer service dept. neglected to reset the computer.
