Hi, Just bought a red 06 RL with 34K Miles, from Bell Honda in Arizona. Just curious if former owner was/is a member of this forum. I haven't actually seen the car yet (it has been delivered to my friend's house -- I'll see it Thursday when I return from my business trip).

Wow, I'm shocked that you didn't personally inspected the RL before you purchases. Is this the "norm" now with all the internet virtual showroom and online negotiation?

Request a CARFAX from the dealer.

You can see the ownership changes and if they are all from AZ. Auctioned cars often cross state lines and you may not know if it was that dealer's trade in or acquired at auction (common).

Even a new RL will have 2 or 3 ownerships changes on a CARFAX report, from the factory, distributor / port of entry and dealer.

RRP RLs in the 05-08 MY are pretty rare. If you know what state it was in by the previous owner(s) you might find them here!

Also check the NAVI...dealers often neglect clearing out prior owner address books and personal information.

 

Not sure if it's the norm...more of a function of timing and convenience (and a bit of risk). It was the only red 06RL I could find with only 34K on it, one owner in AZ (yes, got the carfax report before I bought), all for $22K. Had to get it before someone else did....we all know that red is the faster color ;-)
