decisions decisions decisions.....

i have just purchased a 2007 rl with tech package in may . i love the car inside and out . The only thing is i keep wondering whether i should have put up a few more dollars and gotten a 2009 rl with tech package. No wi have been online the last few days and i have come across a good deal on 2009 rl with tech pkg with 45k miles for only 27,800 . Only one owner and it looks clean across the board . i owe about 26k left on the loan . So my question is should i at least check out the 2009 or stay with my 2007 . is there a big noticeable difference btw the two .......confused

Some things are lost, somethings are gained. I think the most important thing to find out is how much $$$ you will lose. Then you can ask if it is worth it.

Things you gain: Shifting with paddles in automatic, BT streaming for music, stiffer rear sway bar, stiffer suspension (but softer than Aspec I believe), more wood interior, a beak and possibly some more things.

Things you lose: Knob shifting, a front end without a beak...
Okay, so you don't lose too much.

Still, how much money do you lose fromflipping the car? Usually you don't break even.

Good breakdown 007! I don't think it would be worth it, especially considering what you owe on yours. BT streaming would be sweet, as would the full time, but optional, paddle shifting. That said, I just can't learn to appreciate the front end of the 2.5G and losing money on the deal doesn't seem to justify the minimal gains.

well i had intentions on paying it all or at least most of the car off by early next year. i'm going to ride up to test drive the 09 tomorrow to see if it's really worth the trouble.

Be interested to hear what your assessment is of the 3.7L engine with the fatter torque curve and very slightly more horsepower.

So you are saying that you bought a 2007 model back in may for more than 26K??It is either with very low milleage or you got busted. And it is still a lot of money for an 07.I just bought an 07 with Tech. pkg/A-spec wheels/new Michellins Pilot A/S for 18.9K granted it has 82k miles but still big difference in money.Just saying.I was also on the market for a 09 but just couldnt shell out over $32K.Not justified when you can get almost the same car for thousands less.Sorry!

I would be very cautious about that RL, price seems to be too low. Make sure you run carfax and autocheck before you make any serious moves. If they post pictures post em up here, we already had one car where the front was 09+ with the rear 05-08...don't ask.

I bought my '07 Tech I last December with 27k mi for $26k. One owner, dealer service, CPO and it arrived on the lot in May '07. There was an '08 available at the time that arrived Nov. '07 and was 2k more. Arrival date can play a factor in MY consideration.

FWIW, they started at $30k and came down to $26k.

no i brought the 2007 rl with tech package for 23.6 and paid 2g's for the extended warranty .i went to take a look at the 09 today and also test drove it .it was clean inside and out and it definitely has alot more get up than my 07. if the car was black i might have looked into it further but i decided to just wait . Even the salesperson told me just to wait it out and said it wasnt worth it. i would have to come out of pocket at 3 or 4 grand to make up the difference in price . So problem solved i guess....
