I had never heard of ACE before. That's a pretty neat design. There were so many different factors that helped protect me its hard to say which helped the most. I always sit as far away from the wheel as possible (and of course wear my seat belt), I hit a movable barrier with zero momuntum toward me (I pushed the Tundra at least its width over), and then you have the structure of the car. It was a crazy event, but if I could thank a Honda engineer, I would, especially for helping lessen the impact to the man I hit. I wonder how much CMBS would have helped.
