Current Recall Notice on the 05 RL

Does anyone know if the current recall to fix the XM delay, ONSTAR powerloss, and transmission PCM simply reprogramming or are they replacing parts?

I don't know if I want to take mine in since all that stuff seems to be working fine. With my luck, problems will begin after the fix.

Thanks

I think the acura link control module is actually replaced. The PCM is a software update I am sure. Onstar I am not sure about. Look at the PDF of the TSB in the other thread and see if it calls for replacement of parts - that is the intructions that the technicians will use to do the work.

Not a recall, but a technical service bulliten. Big difference.

The details of what is performed can be found here -> https://acurazine.com/forums/showthread.php?t=998

Just click on the link to the PDF and read the procedures within . . .

Just to be clear, there is no recall on the RL. Those are service bulletins where upgrade/adjustments are being made, primarily to software. I believe only the transmission software update is actually Acura as the others are XM and Onstar related. I would suggest inquiring whether your vin # is covered in the bulletins as I don't think more recently purchased RLs may need all of the updates, but not sure about that. I have a very low/early vin # so all applied to me and had them done during recent scheduled oil change. Worth inquiring imho.
