Cruise Control not working

i have a '05 RL and the cruise control stopped working, any ideas?

yea the crusie shows, but does not engage.

I was going to say it is a bad switch on the steering wheel, that is why mine stopped working. To get it to work I just stuffed a small piece of cardboard in there to lodge it in the on position until I can get a new switch.
