Hows everyone doing? Just got my 08 from service center, did A1 with tranny , front and back differential and yearly wheel allignment. Thinking i was done for a while my tech was trying to get me to do a coolant flash with upper and lower radiator hoses for 530$$...

Questions..
Whats to be done at 70000?
Why is coolant flash and the two hoses thia expensive?

It is the coolant flash that is this expensive. You should get a price on a coolant flush.

 

You don't need to touch your coolant. Change it when you do the timing belt at 105k. These cars have long life coolant.

 

Agreed 70k is early. The hoses should be done whenever radiator work is done along with the radiator cap. Those parts are too cheap to risk failure and ruin an engine.

Why so 'spensive? Cause it's a stealership.

I'm thinking about doing the coolant, given the 5yr replacement cycle. No hurry as I'm at 40k miles and near 7 years.

 

You may wish to research the appropriate PH range for the RL coolant, test your coolant to obtain its' PH number, then make a decision armed with the information.
