has anybody ever thought about getting rid of the chrome around our cars? I got a black car and was wondering what it would look like if i painted it black?

 

It would look even blacker.

 

it would make it look more sporty.
heres an example on a 4th gen TL.

 

In terms of the doors and bumpers, it would look like the 2009 edition, which deleted the chrome from the side rub strip (and put it below the doorsills), and has no more trim on the bumpers. In fact, rather than painting over the chrome, you might be able to find the non-chrome strips from an '09 - '10 and just replace yours.

As for the window trim, hood trim, and trunk trim, I think it would make the car look a bit less svelte, though it could look quite sinister.

if you want a cheap easy way to find out, just get yourself some black vynil.

I've seen it done to 1G RL's (painting chrome black) and it does make it look more sporty. The 1G and 2G have chrome in the same exact places minus the door handles.
