"Check Airbag System".......how?

Initially ignoring because I had some items in Pass seat - I've got the Check Airbag System warning light on the driver info screen and Messages menu on main screen. Checked for fuses - there are none listed in Owners manual. Then followed advice in Own Manual unstuffing umbrellas and towels, baby wipes from seat backs....no luck.
What do Owners check next? Last thing I want to do is take to AutoNation North in Orlando. Thanks in advance for suggestions and insight.

Two years ago, my 05 RL had a defective seat belt buckle. It was covered under Acura's extended warranty on
seatbelts -- no charge from dealership.

you need a scan tool that will be able to view DTC's....
a simple $50 scan tool will not be able to view the SRS DTC's.

if not interested in buying a hundred dollar or more scan tool, you'll need to bring it to a mechanic who does have a scan tool

Dealer solution for "Check Airbag System"

Thank all Responders. This summary is nothing but Info for any other Members who may find the same problem.
My RL is 2011 with 157k miles. Missed warranty window of 15 yrs or 150k miles. Honda/Acura proprietary scan tool found code 76-54. Failed seat belt pre-tensioner on passenger side. Good news...air bags and seat belts will function as designed. Bad news...part on backorder and my Autonation North Orlando quoted $1,565.28 parts and labor....after I paid $84 for their diagnosis.

I understand part 81401 SJA A11 is an electronic module located in side pillar. Online parts prices range around $350-$650 and I was quoted $497. But good Lord...$1,000+ labor? Remove plastic pillar cover, disconnect plug and 4 mounting screws. What am I missing?

Guess I'll be watching my local LKQ for 06-12 RL. If available the module is priced at $25. My local LKQ has an 05 which I just scavaged a blown front speaker $7 and complete trunk lid $30 (05 I'm restoring has a huge dent in trunk and all paint baked. Bonus ! Replacement lid is black and matches my RL.

Again...bedt news is this problem will cause no problems with airbag and seat belt operation. Cheers!

For what it's worth: My local Acura dealer shop replaced a defective seat belt latch free of charge under what the shop manager said was Acura's little-known lifetime warranty on the seat belt system.

Yes. Thank you. I referenced your previous post re: Lifetime warranty. I conducted my own search and found Acura listing a 15 yr 150k mile warranty on seat belts. My Dealership did not offer up any information other than "it's out of warranty" which did not surprise me. Nor did the words "customer Goodwill" despite the fact I have purchased 3 previous Acuras from them. I won't purchase another, in fact I avoid this dealership whenever possible.
