I had some of the climate control back-lamps go out and had the dealer replace them. They had to take the center console apart. I now have a creaking in I believe the metal finish transmission gear selector plate (top face of console). Has anyone removed this plate and if so how?

If not, I will have the dealer re-check on next service visit.

That center console cover is held by clips on 4 ends, so you should be able to pry it off, then it should allow you access to the shifter plate. Just pull up.
