CD/DVD not pausing
CD/DVD not pausing
Have you guys noticed - when you use the handsfreelink, onstar, or even general voice commands, the CD does not pause for the time you are using those systems? In the TL whenever I would use the voice command or HFL the CD would pause for the duration; however, in the RL it does not.
Yes, I noticed that as well. I tried pausing the CD during a call by pressing the disc selection button of the DVD that was playing at the time. That did not work. I don't think the radio/CD player and the HFL system are completely integrated. The HFL unit is muting/interrupting the signal coming from the radio when a call is received and sending its own signal through the speakers.
It would be nice if it would bookmark the Disc #/Track #/Minutes:Seconds information when the call came in. When the call was released, you would get a simple Resume? or Resume Disc? message in the MID. If you press the select button within 5 seconds, it would continue from the bookmark. If you do nothing, it keeps on playing. Or you could configure it, per driver ofcourse, to automatically do this each time a received call is hung up.
Or, set a 5 second gap after the call disconnects that would allow you to go back to the place on the disc that was playing just before the call came in by pressing the Channel - button on the steering wheel two quick times. Like a double tap, double-click, etc. This would be the default, normal behavior. That way, people who do not care about this kind of thing do not have to make an extra decision.
Wishlist stuff I quess...

Yea, it only mutes it. I'm not really complaining - it is just a wishlist item. I am just surprised they overlooked it (maybe more difficult because of onstar and the different radio) but the TL had the feature it would pause instead of only cutting off the audio.

I talked to Acura Client Services about that, because that irritates me a lot. There is no way, after you answer a call, even to manually pause or stop the CD player. According to Acura, it works that way on ALL of their HFL vehicles.
I also wish there was a "mute" button for the Navi system, while you're on a call. It's annoying to have it making a 15 second announcement while you're on a call.

They lied to you when they said it works that way on all of their HFL vehicles. That is incorrect. The TL (totaled recently) paused the CD.
I agree with your observation of the navi mute... it is VERY annoying.
