I'll wager they don't import 3000 this year unless they start discounting big time from the day they hit the dealers' shelves.
As C&D says, much more for the money at other showrooms.

 

I think it's manufactured in the U.S., and that they sold much less than 3000 anyways. They only sold 33 here in Canada in 2010. Yes, you read that right. Thirty-three 2010 Acura RLs were sold in Canada.

 

No, the RL is made in Japan. They imported 3000 and last I saw they had sold approximately 2700 of those.
I would guesstimate 2000 to 2500 this year.
Don't get me wrong, it's a solid performer but, the competition is simply too strong for similar money.

 

I love this car. Likes most have said, the playing field is just to full. If they have to discount them to move them, fine by me.

 

When is the 2011 available?

2011 Acura RL Press Release

The 2011 Acura RL goes on sale at Acura dealerships on December 21, 2010 and will be available in 3 trim levels. The MSRP for the RL will be $47,200, RL with Technology Package will be $51,350, and the RL with Advance Package will be $55,150.

 

One local dealer expected the base RL's in November. There are no RL's shown in inventory as of today, 12/28

 

I guess I should have read the PR more carefully. That said, according to their web sites, there are no 2011 RL's in inventory at any Dealers in the Bay Area.

 

I'm looking to replace my 2006 RL this spring, and I'm having trouble finding anything in the sub-$60K price range that can match the RL for features, especially with four-wheel drive. Frankly the Taurus SHO comes closest. Am I missing something?

 

What is the advance package? They mail you a check before you go buy the car? Don't we wish!

 

I bet most dealers won't stock '11 models unless Acura forces them down their throats; there's still '10 models out there.

I seem to remember that some automakers have a system where if you want an in-demand model, you have to take x amount of unpopular ones as well. Not sure where I heard this, though.

My local dealer, according to their website, has a '10 and an '11 available...

 

I think that the 2011 may be on sale now but apparently mostly by order. My dealership only has 1 2010 & no 2011s - they had no idea when any would arrive.

I can't even select RL in the list of models on the web inventory for most Dealers in the Bay Area. There's no 2010s or 2011s within 50 miles of me.

 

Legends/RLs have always been made in Japan and only in Japan since 1986.
