Caliper problem (engine mounts)
Caliper problem (engine mounts)
I was told I have seized caliper piston on driver side and wanted to know what is best option...can they be rebuilt, get new (remanufactured) or used set on Ebay. They also found bad wheel bearings in rear so I got new set to replace.
Car makes creaking noise when I step on brake and push car up and down in fronnt.Juust got new rotors and brakes in August for all 4 tires.
Also they said enging mounts are bad(replaced some 8 years ago) so wanted to know what brand is good and which one usually go bad on 2006 Acura RL.
Forgot to mention when I replaced rotors and pads, driver side was completely gone compared to passenger side and mechanic said something was wrong to grind it down like that.

What brand calipers did you get? I know about mounts going out often. Some people suggest to rebuild calipers so not sure which is better option.I also see used ones on Ebay so wonder if that is worth a shot.
I didn't buy any calipers, i just know they sell them.
I have rebuilt single cylinder brake calipers before. Its usually pretty easy. But the calipers on the rl are 4 piston calipers, might be a headache to rebuild.
Rockauto does also sell a caliper rebuild kit for these, pretty cheap. But honestly its probably worth the extra money to just buy a rebuilt one.
