Semi Hard thud/clunk when starting

I have a 2003 Acura TL-S with 77,000+ miles. When starting the car after its been sitting overnight, I hear a thud/clunk noise and also feel it. It doesn't happen after the car warms or if I turn off the car and restart. Sounds like its coming from the rear of the engine compartment. Has anyone else experienced this? Motor Mounts? Feedback appreciated

have your mounts inspected. If your mounts are original its a good bet they are shot

yea its most likely ur mounts, same issue for me, replaced front and side, and it went down a bit...i dont care for the rear, time/labor is too much to do it.

Hi Mily :

I have the same clunk first thing in the morning and before the engine mount issues is raised, mine are brand new. I think it's the brake calipers releasing, that's why it only happens once. I sometimes also get a groan, which only confirms my brake theory. If I'm right, we have nothing to worry about.

This happens while starting..I know about the brake test..but what I am experiencing is different.. I let my car sit for a few days when I started it the clunk was harder than the clunk from sitting overnight.
