I picked up a used 06 RL & I discovered that the interior dome lights don't work. When I turn the lights on/door or hit the individual button, they won't light up, even in the rear. The blue ambient LED lights work, just not the actual white lights.

I pulled an "interior light" fuse & it looked good. Let me know if you have any ideas before I take it to the mechanic.

 

Try a different fuse?

Does your homelink or rear sunshade switch work?

 

Good idea, thanks! The rear sunshade works, my garage isn't compatible w/ homelink so I can't check that. I think there is an onstar led light that comes on when I start the car too.

 

The dome lights probably burned out. I remember when I bought my 05 rl, both rear dome lights wasn't working. Checked the fuse, and came to conclusion that they just burned out. Maybe you can try replacing one of the bulbs and see if that's your problem.

 

^^This, check the fuses again but also make sure the bulbs are good before you tear into the car.

 

I feel so stupid, the bulbs were missing. Oh well, I wrote in the contract to have the dealer fix it, so no biggie. Thanks for your tips guys!

 

Order LEDs from China. They looks much better and will only run you $2.

Don't buy bulbs from the dealer unless the RL is your yard car to take you to the mail box and you have more money that time.
