A/C System not showing on Diag Screen
What does it mean if the A/C system isn't showing up on the Map-Menu-Cancel Diag Screen -> Unit Status -> Aircon screen? If the car is off, the screen shows A/C not present, when the car is on, the screen shows nothing (except a greyed out up-arrow and down-arrow).
My A/C has been a bit finicky lately (compressor comes on, but the cool is a bit wimpy even on Lo temp), and I was hoping the Diag feature could provide some insight.
Sometimes I wonder if the problem with the clock is causing the A/C system to think it's January 1 in my location, and operating the GPS-sensitive climate control based on erroneous time. I seem to remember the A/C supposedly maintained cabin temperature based on the position of the sun via GPS.

A/C is fully charged and has been diagnosed as "working", but just not cooling as strongly as it used to.
My Acura service writer also didn't know why the system isn't showing up on the RL-specific diag screen, hence the question if anyone had any experience with that as a symptom.

I've heard the clock will go back to working, but the calendar feature might still be out of whack. Since the system gets it time from GPS, and the calendar shows January 1 2002 I had a (somewhat far-fetched) thought that maybe the GPS-linked A/C also used the wrong date and it could be messing up how it controls the temperature. Probably unlikely. So it's back wondering why the A/C system is invisible to the car's diagnostic feature in the Map-Menu-Cancel screen. It's probably a "live-with" at this point as the A/C at least comes on even if the temps are a bit weak.

I think you have to do the special key sequence on startup to put the HVAC in diag mode. Try holding Auto and Recirculation down while you start your car. Then when you go to the diag menu it should show up. Hope this helps and I’m not telling you to try something you’ve already done.
Take a look at this thread for some useful HVAC stuff (it’s where I learned the above info)
