Buy this new RL - Tell a friend!

FYI... Keyes Acura in L.A. (Van Nuys) has a new 2006 RL (light blue exterior) with a rear lip spoiler that I'm sure they would sell for a bargain price. Considering it is an '06 and that the $4,000 incentive AND the 3.9%/4.9% loan offer expire on Jan 2nd (I doubt the $4,000 incentive will be extended for the '06 model)...I calculate this car can be purchased for $40,250 (including destination charge but excluding TT&L). Might even be a couple hundred dollars less considering the car has been on their lot for 120+ days (I think the 06 model closed out last August).

Too bad synth19 already found an RL, this would have his name all over it otherwise.

How can you guess the selling price? You're not selling it, are you?

Not guessing (well...it's an educated guess). After crunching the numbers, dealer's cost is $38,907.00. Add 1.7% for dealer profit ($661.00...and I am not including dealer holdback of $999.00) and you come up a few dollars shy of $40,250 (destination included).

It's a helluva price and admittedly, it would be an embarrassing offer. But considering all that I mentioned previously, the selling price is realistic. Dealer has to get this car off the lot before Jan. 2nd or (I think) he's screwed.

Good guessing on the prices, here's the actuals from the CR paid service as of 01/01/07.

Consumer Reports Bottom Line Price
What the dealer paid for this car. $39,098

Invoice
Dealer invoice price. $44,577

MSRP
Manufacturer's Suggested Retail Price. $49,970

Dealer Incentive $4,000

Dealer Holdback $1,479

The $4,000 may indeed be going away as I got a call last week from a So Cal dealer telling me they had three new '06 RL's non-tech and would sell any of them for $40,577. No big deal as this offer has been on the table from multiple dealerships for several months.

What WAS interesting is - I live in Boston!

I had bid on a car they had on eBay in October and spoke to them about it. Guess they are really combing through their cold leads to find somebody willing to take the cars.

Happy New Year

SC

Yeah, this deal is nothing special in socal.

There were dealers selling the RL for as low as 38.5K in the fall. I regret not snagging one then.

Welcome to Acurazine!

You will be really lucky to find ANY leftover 2006 RLs at this point without their being used. The only advice I can give you is to call around as there are a lot of Acura dealers in SoCal.

I bought my 2006 for $40,100.
I paid cash, so no great loan rate, and normally paying cash isn't something the dealer wants, but they wanted to sell the car, and I told them that every $100 on the car, I'd "feel" since I'm not putting it into a note.
I was able to get them way down as a result.
