Brakes
Brakes
How many miles are people getting on their brakes? I have an '07 and it only has 11K miles and the brakes are fine. However, on my '05 MDX I waited too long and had to get the rotars and pads replaced- 50K miles- had I gone sooner just the pads would've been replaced.
Thanks!
Thanks!

my 98 toyota avalon went 135,000 miles and had the brakes changed for the first time(including turning all 4 rotors) due to a shimmy. The mechanic told me that there was plenty of pad left. (this was the wifes car)
I had my second service done at about 12-13K and they said 10/32 left on the brakes, which is pretty damn good, since in the VA inspection, nominal new brake thickness is 10/32, and half life is 5/32
I use adaptive cruise control pretty much 99% of the time. It's harder on the brakes than a real person would be. My brakes seem to wear out about twice as fast as I'd normally expect them to. Just a heads up to those of you who care...

last week, customer comes in for a b2 service.
around 30k on the clock. needs front brakes and turn rotors.
customer flips out on price of pads. imagine that
wonders why he needs brakes, he wants them warranted, my advisor laughs in the back of his head. i tell him to ask the customer if he uses acc alot. he ends up saying yes.
i see as low as 20k around 3-4/32"
most rl's im seeing a little past 40k..of course this is depending on the driver and braking conditions.
