Brake vibration - Prices @ Dealer?
Brake vibration - Prices @ Dealer?
Hey Guys,
Service Manager stated that our RL needs new pads and the rotor cut. To which I told him that ventilated rotors rarely ever warp. He gave me a dumbfounded "whatever" look and stated that this is the proceedure and if I dont like it, I can take my car somewhere else.
I grabbed a rough estimate of $450 for new pads + rotor truing. This sounds a bit high for a simple pad replacement and a rotor cut (if even necessary!).
Your thoughts are appreciated!

The Corvette forum has had some great brake threads. I could not find the one I saw a while back that really gave a superb technical explanation, but here's one that gives several insights on rotor "warping" or "no warping", i.e. maybe rotors really don't warp but have deposits, eh? Read it and make your own conclusions:
