The best car I have ever owned
So much has happened over the past few days
that my mind has become sort of blurred.
I never really intended to get a new car. Thing
is, many of my co-workers were buying new
expensive cars and I figured since my car only had
24,000 miles on it perhaps I could get a good
trade-in towards my first expensive vehicle.
For most of my life I have been driving cars that
cost less than $25K.
I was originally looking at a convertable, perhaps
a Toyota Solara or a BMW C325i. It wasn't until a
good friend of mine started touting his Acura TL
that I began to look towards a luxery vehicle with
lots of gadgets onboard.
After test driving the RL, I knew this was the car I
wanted and I decided to go for a lease.
In any event, I am thankful for two things....
First, this bulletin board. What a great place and
what really cool people. All of you have been extremely
courteous and helpful to me in my buying/leasing decision
over the past week.
I run my own website -- it's a huge bulletin board like
this one dedicated to Home Theater -- and we strive to
keep conversation civil. You guys should be very proud that
you have achieved a well-moderated community here.
Second, my car. I love the RL. By far the best ride I
have ever enjoyed in an automobile. I used to hate driving
until I stepped into this vehicle. It truly looks and feels
like a car worthy of its pricetag.
I am very happy to be part of this community. I feel as
if I have become part of an elite group of Acura RL owners
when I sign into this forum. I make a point to read as many
of your posts on a daily basis and I don't hesitate to post
questions when I have them.
All of you have responded politely, and I have the feeling
that all of you share the same passion in your vehicle as I
do mine.
Anyone even thinking of owning/leasing an Acura RL
should not hesitate to make a decision to do so. This is a
really extraordinary vehicle.
Nice to meet all of you.

Congratulations on your car. I hope to owned one in a year or so. I have to be extremely smart in my finances to afford a car like this on my military pay.
I would help you guys even more if I have even seen the car. I haven't seen an RL and I haven't sat in one. Some day I will. I hoping the euro legend comes here very soon september/october. I was going to the states this month, but because of work and a mandate inspection I was not allowed so my wife and kid are over there at the moment, that is why I have had so much time to post on this forum lately.

Congrats on the car. I feel the same way about my new RL as well. What a pleasure to drive.
Bitium, You have my respect for the sacrifices you make to serve our country. Hopefully one day soon, the military will be compensated the way they should be.
One thing I will say, you are damn lucky to get to drive those European cars that the US only dreams of. Too bad our laws won't allow the kind of power etc that I know the germans produce in their versions out there.

Congratulations NJRonbo on buying your RL. The joy you are having with it is evident and I might add, understandable. The quality of my 2005 RL with its build, technology and luxury has surpassed my expectations. I am confident that as time passes, you will find your RL continues to be as wonderful as it is today.
I agree with you about this website. Like you, it has been my good fortune to find Acurazine. It is a place of valid information and good fellowship. Being retired, I have ample time to indulge in frequenting a number of websites devoted to my interests (automobiles, firearms, computers and home theater).
As websites devoted to these subjects have proliferated, I have found it necessary to become highly selective in choosing the ones in which I wish to participate. I simply do not want to waste my time reading immature, vociferous and often warped comments as are published in many forums. There are forums however, such as Acurazine that enable one to learn, contribute and enjoy the good company of other enthusiasts in a cordial environment.
Good luck and safe driving with you RL.
Regards

I have to agree with you in terms of the car. It is a joy to drive. I find myself just wanting to get inside and turn her on and just cruise. I have no regrets moving up into the RL. It has all that I need in terms of power handling and luxury. Sure there are always little things like back up camera etc that might be nice, but the over all package is too hard to compete with. I have a strong feeling the RL will start to gain momentum in the market place. It has a distinctive look, and the positve comments I have recieved in the past few days tell me interest is out there. Just like the new 7 series. It had a alot of criticism for the looks etc, but became the best selling 7 series of all time. I see this with the RL.
But I do enjoy not seeing as many on the road as I do of the GS's and M's

Agreed. I traded in my Acura 01 CL Type S last week for my 05 RL. I was a poster in the CL section before. I got a lot of useful info from the CLS group.
I thought the CLS was great to drive until I got the RL. What an upgrade.
Guess I'll have to modify my username now that I don't have headers anymore.
I make up reasons to go driving now. I jsut sit back and relax and enjoy the ride.
It is definitely the best car I've ever owned.
