I have noted in another thread that the D1 memory settings (wheel telescope) are not engaging when I start car even though welcome D1 is displayed. Another member pointed me to the thread that attributes this issue to a weak battery.
I am thinking that this is in fact the case.
So, now I am wondering what the typical replacement time is for the original battery. Assuming I will need to replace soon, I will be at just over 30 months on OEM battery.
Any other experiences?

Look in your warranty booklets and the owners manual...
The OM (06, p 439) says there is a 100% replacement guarantee on OEM battery, but I am not sure how long that warrranty is. For example is it only 12 months or the 48 mos/50000 miles? That's where the warranty booklet comes in, to give you term.

Look at the the August 2007 Service News in the sticky at the top of the main RL board.
There is a little reference to weak battery causing some problems. I did not copy the whole thing....
Take any modern Acura vehicle and you’re bound to
find a computer chip or two tucked inside. Besides
ECMs/PCMs, you’ll find them in audio units;
speedometers and odometers; clocks; climate
control units; control units for ABS, TCS, and VSA;
security systems; keyless entry; multiplex control
units; and so on....
....A battery cable
reset forces all capacitors in that component to
discharge faster, and it clears and resets the
computer memory. If a software glitch is the
culprit, a battery cable reset will fix the problem
just as effectively as installing a new component
would. Before you do this procedure though,
make sure the battery has a full charge. A low
battery can cause electronic components to not
work right or not work at all.

By the way, mine was replaced on the 2nd visit for my XM Traffic not working. Third visit they replaced the XM receiver and the Fourth visit they pulled a fuse sitting Service Bulletin 05-026 “…a marginal battery or a poorly performing charging system may cause the AcuraLink control unit (XM receiver) to malfunction.” Oh, and I’ve only had the car for just over a month.

thanks konst
I discovered there is a sight gauge on the battery that is supposed to show whether it is healthy or not, but I can't really see any of the indicated colors in it. Maybe that's a sign unto itself.
Guess I better replace it before it fully goes.

prehaps the fix is just disconnecting the battery to allow the capacitors to empty and then restart with a new connection (as opposed to the second part of the operation, which is replacing the battery)
