I wonder if anyone can steer me in the right direction when it comes to back-up cameras which would be easiest and best quality while still maintaing a factory look (I don't like license-plate mounted cameras)?

Preferably I am looking for an interface which can be mounted in the rear into the Nav brain. Maybe someone knows what would be the best combination of camera and interface for the 2005 Acura RL. This has been discussed much in the past but circumstances and products change quite frequently so I believe things may be different in 2014. Im just looking for the best value and a fairly straight-forward install. Thanks guys....

 

There are threads on the forum that cover this installation at the DVD unit. Search for backup camera or navtool.I recommend the thread by Heavy_RL. It was written some time ago but is still current. I also suggest getting the instructions for installing the factory unit for year 2006 as these will provide instructions for taking apart the truck trim pieces. Most installations recommend the navtool interface and provide installation pictures. I used a similar product from Tada Brothers but wouldn't recommend them as no instructions were supplied that applied to the RL. I installed by following instructions found on this forum. The camera used by most of the forum installers is still available, just follow the links you find in the postings.

 

Don't all 2014 RLX's come with backup camera standard???
