Back Roads MPG Discussion
I was averaging 58 mph with the occasional red light or stop sign. I'm impressed!

Yeah, rural roads rock; here are shots of two 500+ mile tanks; the 36 mpg tank (534.8 miles / 14.883 gallons = 35.934 mpg) was done in Nebraska and Colorado, the "Runner-Up" tank showing 34 mpg (516.8 miles / 14.559 gallons = 35.497 mpg) was done in Indiana, Illinois, and Iowa.

One wise man once told me, you don't buy V6 AWD or V8 to save on gas and get good mileage ... I have to say I agree with him
I know my avg mpg just because computer shows it on MID

I cannot force myself to drive 55, hell, I can't even force myself to drive at 65. The two mileage runs I showed above showed average speeds of 68 and 72, which in turn means my typical speed was well up into the 70s except for traffic and bio-break stops.

That's true. 55MPH is a great speed to save gas but unfortunately I honestly would get a ticket or something for driving that slow on the freeway. WA state patrol got too much time on their hands. I also cruise at 70mph on trips.
