^ What the broccoli man says. I just find it funny that while I'm sitting here removing as many badges as I can, others are adding more

This question begs another question: How can one make the 3rd brake light stay always lit ?

OP, the CHMSL on the RL just "pops off". If your fingers aren't large, you can usually slide them in enough to pull the assembly straight down. Wash your hands first or use latex gloves to avoid staining the headliner. Otherwise use an interior pry tool and take caution to not damage the liner.

M T L, why would you want that? That would be terribly illegal in the US and inappropriate anywhere.

^^^

Further, one you remove the brake light assembly, you will find the rear glass has a wide border outline of the brake light area (the window matrix). If the film is not already pre-trimmed, it would be relatively simple to trim the film using this border as a guide. As a window tint installer would do, lay the film on the outside of the window and trim, then install inside.

I have removed my 3rd brake light periodically simply to clean the window which was fogged and filmy. Use caution when you pop off the brake light housing as there are spring clips which may pop off the mounting plate. Don't lose them.

crap like this has always existed, it's the mindset of the owners that has changed.

you call it rice, or autozone performance, or "damn the value of my car has dropped"

It happened when people thought it was a rich grandpa car, then it happened when the lease cars hit the auction, the VIP, then hella flush and stance, you get the point.

to answer your question, as stated above you remove the third brake light and its usually a vinyl sticker.

I also hope you are recovering well from your surgeries.

Thanks for that I'm not really doing soo good I had to go to the E.R.a few days ago and I'm in there just about every month I had a big surgery and I feel like it was done for nothing. But I'm still getting tons of studies done so hopefully one day all this will end I'm suffering every day with pain having to take methadone pills for pain and even use medical marijuana and that helps sooooo much I lost about 50lbs and that helps with appetite aka munchies

I don't think this is a major mod just a lil customization not over doing it in my opinion.

Third brake lamb is for safety.
What is the reason for doing this?

A number of reasons Turk.

1. they think it makes them look cool like the GT race teams who have the manufacturer name all over the car
2. they think modifying the lighting is cool because it breaking the law like clear/smoked tail lights or colored headlight bulbs
3. they were bored at home surfing ebay and had no one there to say thats stupid...

Unless you are donked out, candy painted, or getting splinters from all of the added wood grain, you shouldn't care too much about what everyone else thinks. It's a minor aesthetic enhancement that doesn't detract from anything on the car, safety included. I thought it was a cool idea. Then again, I always liked the Dodge Ram brake light stencils, so what do I know?

Keep your head up Dre, you've been through a lot, I wish you good health.
Looking at pics of your RL I think you should debadge some of the trunk and install a painted roof spoiler. Forget the brake stencil.
