Suspention

I had mine installed at the dealership for $1,000.00 with the purchase of the car in May. Well worth the money, gives a Euopean type ride.

just added the A spec suspension from a NY dealer cost about 600 for the parts but the labor brings it to $1,000.

The A-spec is shocks and springs only. The sway bars are not replaced.

I am having mine installed Friday and it is costing $1050. they matched the ebay price and gave me a discount on labor (they said 4.5 hours). They have only done two of them. I am looking forward to the reduction in body roll on the twisties and float on the highway.

I love mine...way better road feel.

See pictures in the photo gallery of the car.

I had an alignment at the same time I had the A-Spec suspension installed on my TL. However, many people recommend an alignment two weeks later, giving some time for the new springs to settle. There is debate as to whether each approach is better. Things worked out fine with my TL.

I've been calling around for prices on the A-Spec wheel/suspension package. My dealer wants $2700+, but the parts manager might price match for a regular customer. Hondacuraworld, our official site parts vendor, is offering $2080 shipped. Curry Acura on eBay is offering $1979 with $60 shipping (total $2030). None of these prices includes tires, of course.

Acura has made things pretty tough for those of us who want to upgrade. Hondacuraworld won't split wheel/suspension kits without a guaranteed buyer for the part you don't want. My dealer won't split at all no matter what. Curry and Acura of Escondido offer the suspension separately ($600 & $650, respectively).

I expect to have an A-Spec kit sitting in my garage sometime in the next two weeks....just have to figure out who to buy it from.

If there was a group buy for the wheel/suspension package, how much do you think that Tim can lower his price to? Suspenion and wheels WILL be my next mods for sure. I am also looking around for the best prices.

Got it when I got the car...they gave me a 500 dollar credit for the stock wheels and tires.

I know....but I did not want to find a buyer (who would buy the stock stuff....if not the dealer).

My dealer matched the Curry price. Install was 3-4 hours I think. Alignment after install per Acura installation instructions. Car tracks fine at 1000 mi now.

I am a happy camper. 18" black chrome wheels too....Pirelli rubber (pzero nero M&S).

Very nice guys. I just got the RL service manual in the mail today, so I will be installing my suspension myself (I like wrenching) and then proly take it for a performance alignment. Hopefully I can adjust camber on this car.

Does anyone notice any increase in road feel through the steering wheel with the A-spec suspension and standard 17 inch wheels and tires?

I'd be interest in an answer to this question, too.

I did this on my TL--I drove my car with A-Spec suspension and stock 17" wheels for almost two years before upgrading to 18s. It greatly increased the road feel, decreased the slightly numb steering on the stock TL, and reduced body roll and squat. The best part is, with the 17s, the ride quality was not harsh at all.

I am looking for a similar effect with the RL's A-Spec and one option for me is to go with the suspension alone for now. Realistically, I'm getting the wheels too....

I did the same thing and also changed the steering wheel at the same time to the RL wooden and leather. It has been about 4 days now and I am enjoying the new feel of the car more than I have ever done in the past. I feel very connected to the driving experience and drove the car on a section of the bronxville parkway with lots of curves and bends. This was done before the change in suspension and after the A spec suspension was installed is quite noticable.

Rl is much more connected and more in control and I gain another 10 mph and remained very much in control doing the same section of the parkway

The experience is so enhanced I no longer even listen to the radio or cd as I am enjoying the feel of the car. I plan on changing the wheels to 17 245 40 michelin pilot sports A/S in a couple months to see what impact this will have on the drive

Thanks for the reply, that's very helpful. It's tempting to do just the suspension...
