AFS Light; Need Help

I have searched and searched all thru the forums and I still haven't found a very assuring answer/fix for my problem. I have read all the threads I could find and there are so many fixes and all of them are so expensive so i wanted to start this thread to narrow it and decide which one to fix first.

Problem #1: AFS light flashing all the time.
Just started recently, the AFS Light stayed on all time even after i turn off the car and turned it back on, Prior to this, it would only turn on intermediately and turned off after i restarted the vehicle.

Problem #2: My low beam turns off after it flickers, most of the time it would be only driver side, but sometimes it would be both low beams. But my fog lights stay on. If I turn off my headlights and then turned them back on, the low beams work again but after a bump or a few minutes later they flicker and shut off again. I only noticed the low beam was turning off after the AFS warning light was on.

My lights still turn in the direction I am turning. and move up at start up.

When I went to check what codes was coming up when connected to the honda diagnostic computer, like 10 different codes came up and all of them about AFS, none of them narrowed it down. Some were like B2141 and B2130 (sorry I forgot to write down what the codes read)

I am opening a new thread to consolidate all the information into one thread and see everyone's resolution from the past so it becomes more efficient for the NEXT person that gets the AFS light going off. And for your advice on my vehicle as well lol.

A former certified Acura technician told me that it was my headlight unit because a sensor wouldn't turn them off, but I have not read anywhere where someone replaced the headlight unit to fix the flickering and turning off low beam. (My headlights were customized and resealed; so it might be it, but its been months since I got my headlights done and installed)
In the next few days, I will replace the low beam light bulbs and see if thats the cause but i doubt it.

Resolution #1: Replace AFS control Module. Around $800 or less.

Resolution #2: Replace steering position sensor in the rear driver side suspension. Sensor approx around $180.

Resolution #3: Replace headlight igniter.

Resolution #4: Replace both headlight lamps.

From your experiences, what should I do first? I don't really want to replace the headlight lamps due to msrp $1500 for one side. And I have read so much about someone replacing one thing and it still didn't fix it and it getting fixed til everything was replaced.

I really need help with this.

That's a whole lotta words.... did you get your battery checked out?

I always start there on electrical issues.

Put a smilie face sticker on the gauge to cover the warning...

I've had that AFS warning pop-up on about three times, and every time I restarted the car it wouldn't come back on.

+1 on the battery. I weak battery seems to cause havoc on the RL.

But I am also thinking your resealed headlights are a problem. The projector motors may have shorted. Can you get someone to stand in front of the car while you turn the steering wheel?

most auto parts stores have a load tester... the unfortunate part is that these cars are sensitive to a "low" performing battery that may not be dead.

I agree that RL is very sensitive to low battery, but OP's symptoms do not seem to be the typical low battery issues.
I would say 80%+ of the time, the flicker and turning off is the bulb.

The AFS warning could be one of the sensors going bad.

Is it good or bad that only one of my headlights does an AFS check when I start the car up and turn on the lights?

sfmarine - it's good - only the passenger light moves during the startup test.

Thanks for your help guys,
So I replaced both my low beam bulbs and its working fine now. So problem #2 is solved.
The light does move when I start the car and also when I am turning on the highway off ramp.
But to fix the afs warning light
I think I am going to replace the rear driver side position sensor and see if the afs turns off.
if that doesn't work, I will not spend $800 to replace the afs control unit. and leave it alone.

I'd try taking it to the dealer or a service center and get them to clear the light with the computer.

it is either the stroke sensor or more likely the afs unit. I had stroke sensor replaced and still got the afs warning light. Replaced afs unit and it stopped. I was under warranty. $1200 if I wasn't
