I've read through the threads however it turns out in Canada we apparently don't get the same 3M branded adhesives, they are rebranded/labelled for Canada. So the closest thing I could find at Home Depot, etc is a heavy duty "super strong exterior mounting tape 4011C" - coincidentally enough with a red peel-off backing - which is also offered in a "normal" duty grade. There was no difference in thickness that I could tell between the two.

I plan to get the dealer to do the install per the Acura instructions with the bolts, etc but I'd like to make sure they use a good adhesive that will hopefully avoid the gaps and lifting over time that can apparently happen otherwise.
