Acura's incentive through 10/31/06

In case anyone is interested...

As of this writing, the only incentive offered on a 2006 RL is $3,000 for 'marketing support' (the additional $2,000 consumer incentive is gone).

For those considering leasing, a 36/10 is at $599/month with an initial down payment of $3,499 (up $800 from last week). But stay tuned. Acura has added (and taken away) additional incentives mid-steam during a promotional period.

Edmunds did post it a few weeks ago. It was also told to me by an Acura service supervisor.

Those "cash at signing" or "cap cost reduction" deals are so insulting. That $3500 equates to about $105. a month, so the REAL payment is ~$704/mo., not $599. And that's for only 10,000 miles. Sucks.

I just leased a Lexus IS350 (cap cost about $40,000) for 3 yrs/15,000 miles/yr for $595. a month with ZERO down (except for TTL). So if RL's are selling for only a grand or two more, I should theoretically be able to get a 36/15 lease on an RL for about $650., all things being equal.

Credit the RL's abysmal residual and money factors. If I could do a zero-down 36/15 lease on an RL for that $599, I'd get one and figure out what to do with my other cars later!

Realistically, someone with excellent FICO scores can get a lease w/ first months, documentation fee and TLL and have the cap cost 'go away'. But... many who lease do not think they can negotiate price or terms.

By advertising such a large cap cost makes me wonder how much longer Acura will have their heads in the toilet until they come up for air.

There was only 3k back on the RL.

OK, translate this into English for a doctor.

So this means that for every RL sold the dealer gets $3k, which they can use toward giving me a better deal or (if I didn't know how to negotiate) goes into their pocket. Correct? How does this give me wiggle room in negotiations? I recently test drove an RL (again) and while I am leaning toward keeping my TL at this time, I am willing to finance/buy a 2006 RL if I get the right deal. ($40-$41k).

Honestly I got a 36 month lease on a 2005 RL last November for ~$580/month (+ tax) with "zero" down and walked away from a TL lease that was 25 months into a 42 month lease.

I'd wait until the 2007's start showing up in late October (especially the "de-contented" ones) to negotiate on the RL.

If the 3k wasn't there your starting price would be 3k higher.

Thanks, CL6, that's about what I thought.

lindros2, that's a good suggestion. I just checked the inventory for my dealer online and they've got the same number they did when I took my test drive a couple of weeks ago. I'm POSITIVE I can get a $40k deal if I wait long enough.

They wouldn't go below 41.5 for me BTW.
That was 2 days ago.
